Why would someone take the time to duct tape 2 perfectly good systems together and try to sell them as a PS3? Because a PS3 is hot and someone might just be stupid enough to be confused and bid on this, thinking it's a PS3.
The things some people will do for a buck. Me, I don't think I would feel good about duping someone into buy something they didn't realize they were getting.
What about you? Are you willing to dupe someone for a few extra bucks, and you believe "let the buyer beware?"
