I think a fair few of you will have heard of the XBMC project; a piece of software originally written for the xBox as a homebrew media centre which has since expanded to be a smart cross platform piece of software.
Unfortunatly for the developers; it is going to soon be outclassed by Boxee, a fairly unknown fork of XBMC. The interface is just awesome, and the way you can grab content from hulu, flickr, the like, is just brilliant. There's also a social aspect to it as well; the key difference between it and XBMC. You can connect with different boxee users and read up on what they've been watching, send them reccomendations etc.... it's just a really, really good idea.
Check it out at Boxee.tv
