Wi-fi
by Jordan Grodecki on January 31, 2009

Okay. So it's a thermostat, and okay, it costs almost $400. But it will save you money, with claims it could break even within the first year.
It connects to your home network via wifi, and through Ecobee's service, this smart little thermostat will grab weather forcasts and adjust your heating/aircon system depending on temperature and the like, on the fly.
You'll no longer get hours of wasted usage as you turn on your heating expecting a cold snap, or waste energy running the aircon when it's already cold! It's a good idea, but is it just a bit to expensive to really break into the market?
