Sometimes we take it for granted when we pick up the phone or dial up the internet on our modems. The residents of Mink, Louisiana will be sure to appreciate their new phone service.

The last town in Louisiana without phone service, Mink's 15 homes were wired this week at a cost of $700,000 or about $47,000 per phone. The phone service was a long time coming due to Mink's remoteness that extended 30 miles into a deep forest. Hard to believe there are towns still without phone service in this day and age.
