Mix tape lighting

I've recently started going through all the boxes I have stacked up in my closets. I've found a lot of pretty interesting things, but one common thread is an abundance of mix tapes created in the early 90's. I've started to collect them all in the same box, and was pretty excited to see this contraption this morning: a mix tape lamp. The lamp was a DIY, pretty cool idea is you ask me. Have you ever created furniture or electronics for your home out of something you had lying around like mix tapes?
