DigitalProducer.com has a review of the Motorola 6400-Series DVR. While the reviewer has Cox Cable, this DVR is pretty much the standard for most cable companies. Overall it's a pretty positive review and the summary states:
The Cox HD service with the Motorola 6400-series HD DVR is targeted toward home theater enthusiasts looking for a higher-quality alternative to Tivo. It features component video and optical (Toslink) audio out and provides 60 hours of standard-definition recording, or 10 hours of HD recording. The quality and features of this service should make Tivo worry and at least rethink their strategy for the high-end home theater market.
Seeing how I also use the 6400 series, I'll concur with the review and say that the 6400 series is a pretty nice piece of equipment. What I'm really waiting for is the DCT6412 series which has a 120GB hard drive and dual tuners. How sweet is that?
