Playstation 3: Camping out for a PS3 was fun

Camping out for the New PS3 is FUN?!?

I didn't take the time to camp out to get a new playstation 3. In fact, I don't think I'll be getting a PS3 anytime soon. But some people did. They camped out in hopes of getting their hands on a beautiful PS3. Was it fun? Was it worth it?

By the looks of this CNN article, I would say it was NOT worth it. One man was shot while waiting in line, others were held up for their money, because this device is not cheap, with PS3 prices ranging between $499 and $599, $200 more than the PS2 at launch, and $400-$500 higher than what you'd pay to get the first Sony console.

    Hi,

    just read your blog and “yes” I did manage to get a PS3 at launch. I actually have a lot to say about it especially since I also own a Xbox360. Anyway, if yo want to talk just contact me, after such a long wait for the system I am more than willing to talk.

    I’ve never camped for a PS3,in fact I wouldn’t camp for it even if the quality of the game is great and it is worth some efforts.

    I can only say that these guys enjoy their gaming but camping out in the cold for a console is pretty harsh. I think there were only a few available so that’s why these guys camped.

    I find it amazing what people are capable of doing for money. Must we be scared to carry large amounts of money when just standing in line?

    I got my PS3 this past summer and I have really enjoyed it. I do know a couple of people that camped out on black Friday and got some good deals.

    My son actually camped out on this passed Friday for one. He had a blast doing it.
