I'm not sure why this hasn't happened sooner. eHomeUpgrade is reporting that Samsung is offering USB ports in the HT-UP30 (MSRP $369) and HT-TP33 (MSRP $495) home theater systems. The article states:
The port, in essence, allows users to connect an external USB storage device and playback its media files through the home theater system. So not only can one tune into AM/FM radio, playback music CDs and DVDs, users can also listen to their stored MP3, WMA files, watch DIVX, WMV files, and view JPEG images as well.
How sweet will it be to merge your media center with your home theater system? I also like the under $500 price point for such a great looking system.
