This is what I've been waiting for. The Scientific-atlanta's Explorer 8300 is your typical dual tuner DVR with a major difference (if you have Time Warner Cable). You can stream recording to other rooms of the house. According to YahooNews:
The multi-room DVR is a two-tuner DVR and cable box in one with an internal hard drive that holds about 50 hours of programming. It uses a home's existing cable system to communicate with smaller set-top boxes attached to the other TVs in the house. From the other TVs, I can either watch live TV or play back a recorded program.
Currently the service is only available with Time Warner Cable but we'll keep our fingers crossed that other cable companies realize that multi-room DVRs are a really cool thing.
