Selecting a Whole-home Audio System
Filed in archive Audio by Elwyn Jenkins on September 18, 2007
Thinking about installing an audio system in your home? Consider making it a whole-home audio system, even with music piped outside into decking and garden areas.

Well known to USA TV viewers Bob Vila has a most interesting website with all manner of projects. See his project about "Choosing a Whole-Home Audio System" before you start on an audio project. Bib Vila has some very good points to make about audio systems.

And no the same music is not piped around the home. Areas of the home can be fitted out with its own music circuit so that you can have multiple music selections playing at once around the home. You can have soothing classical music for the den, a talk show for the kitchen and latest hits playing in the teenagers bedroom.

Bob Vila takes you through how to choose speakers, controls, multi-zone systems, and other considerations. Perhaps the most important thing about this project is that Bob even shows you how to retrofit an existing house with an audio system.
