Show how wired you are with a drink float
Filed in archive Wired Outdoors on August 12, 2007
The ultimate hostess appliance for when you wish to serve drinks in the pool. Don't call your guests out of the water, float drinks to each of your guests using the "Remote Control Pool Float".
The remote-controlled drink float carries up to five drinks without tipping over. It even stays afloat as each drink is taken. You guide the drink float from one person to another. Should your friends be basking in the sun on a floatable device, they do not have to move as drinks will float to them.
This appliance is less expensive than you might imagine coming in at around US$49.99. It uses battery power - 6 D batteries in the float itself and a 9-voly battery in the remote control. So you can see the drink float carries quite a weight of batteries partly to settle it down into the water rather than being top-heavy.
