I thought this was really interesting. ITFacts.biz breaks down some interesting statistics about consumer electronics showing that 75% of US homes have DVD players. Other statistics include:
Who knows how accurate those statistics will be but they're still pretty interesting.

- $125.7 bln of consumer electronics will be sold in 2005
- $33 bln of DVD content produced in 2004, $76.5 bln will be produced in 2009
- 1.8'' hard drives up due to high demand, iPods
- 10.87 mln cable set top boxes sold in 2004
- 11 mln digital cable set top boxes shipped in 2004
- 11 mln DVD burners will sell over the next 18 months
- 12.6 mln US households to have HDTV by the end of 2004, 45 mln by 2008
- 13% of consumers plan to buy a DVD recorder
- 16 mln US households to own multi-room DVRs by 2009
- 19 mln digital radios will be sold in 2007
Who knows how accurate those statistics will be but they're still pretty interesting.
