The U.S economy is still dragging and low TV sales are hurting the manufacturers. So Labor Day sales are expected to give HDTV's the much needed sales boost.
There are discounts on HDTVs in Amazon and Walmart. Like the 4th of July deals, the Labor Day sales offer the hottest deals. This time HDTV is the targeted deal maker. Companies like LG are offering outstanding deals like 42" LCD HDTV is at $498. Sanyo, TLC, Samsung, Panasonic etc have all joined the sales bandwagon.
Sony is out offering a complete package deal, the Sony smart HDTV is bundled for only $898. At that price one gets 1080p resolution; 60Hz refresh rate, and the TV includes Sony Internet TV, Blu-ray Disc player powered by Google TV and 2 HDMI cables.
LG Electronics Showcases Smart Appliances at IFA 2011

LG Electronics is showcasing its smart appliances for the European market at the IFA 2011. Its catalogue of smart appliances includes its smart refrigerator, smart washing machine and the smart Lightwave Oven.
LG has two complementary sets of technologies for its smart appliances: the four Core Technologies and the Smart ThinQ technologies. According to Young-ha Lee, President and CEO of LG, the combination of these two technologies will give smart appliances that are not only environment friendly but also save the time and energy of the consumers.
The side by side refrigerators by LG double up as smart appliances which help in food management and consumers can also check the food inside through their smartphones and verify data like its location and expiry date. The Smart Access feature in the fridge allows consumers to check the stocks in the fridge even they are out for shopping so they know what to get from the stores. The smart fridge also offers recipe options for the food that is in the fridge.
Epson Launches New Home Projectors

Epson has released three new home projectors which have unique selling points to appeal to the customers. The printer and projector major has launched these new home projectors keeping in mind the growing needs of the consumers such as iPod docks and 3D capabilities without shedding the cheap price tag.
Out of the new home projectors, the MG-850HD has the capability to dock iPods, iPhones, and iPads. It also features the company's 3LCD technology which allows 720p HD projections up to 300 inches. The device also boasts of built in 10W stereo speakers and connectivity options for Blu-Ray and DVD players, TVs, PCs and gaming consoles. It will be available from November 2011 with a price tag of around $900.
Epson has also launched five new home projectors with full HD 3D. The EH-TW5900 which is the basic model among those home projectors has a 20,000:1 contrast ratio, 1080p playback and a 2,000 lumens output. The device also provides two color modes in 3D. Even these models are slated to hit the market in November.
