Telephone
by Elwyn Jenkins on September 30, 2007
Computing Unplugged Magazine ran a review of the new T-Mobile's hotspot@home service. Evidently the t-mobile's hotspot service consists of a router and a mobile phone. The mobile phone seeks out a wi-fi hotspot and phones on that service rather than on the normal GSM network.

The cost of making calls is extremely inexpensive since you are calling on wi-fi hotspots rather than callling on the normal GSM network. Having a hotspot at home makes calling on your mobile rather inexpensive. And when you are out the phone looks for a GSM network prior to then making the call on the GMS network.
