Will Sony cut the PS3 Price?

According to News.com, Sony may cut the prices of the PS3 in an effort to break even on the console. It's amazing to me that it would take a price CUT to make more money, but someone obviously overshot what was real in regards to sales. I am perfectly content with my PS2, though I would LOVE to get a PS3...for $300 or less. And I'd like a few games, and another controller, and expect to come in around $450.
What do you expect to get from your PS3? Will this help sales? Do you even care?
