Wiring a 200 Year Old Home
Filed in archive Wired Home General by Elwyn Jenkins on October 4, 2007
Want to know how to wire an old home? Not just an old home, like 50 years old. No, this article reports on how a 200 year old home was modernized using wired technologies.

Look at how wired this home is today:
This Maryland house has a whole-house control system, security cameras, 13 zones of audio distribution, a wireless computer network, geothermal heating, sensors for water leaks and humidity, a surround-sound system and a DVD movie server.
Now that is not bad for a 200 year old home. Read the article to see how it was done.

The task was not for the feint hearted, it took hours and hours of cutting channels, pulling high-speed communication wires and mounting technology is various parts of the house. To do something like this it seems one would have to plan very carefully so that all the technology that would be quickly outdated can be removed and replaced with ease. Very interesting article.
