LG Electronics Showcases Smart Appliances at IFA 2011

LG Electronics is showcasing its smart appliances for the European market at the IFA 2011. Its catalogue of smart appliances includes its smart refrigerator, smart washing machine and the smart Lightwave Oven.
LG has two complementary sets of technologies for its smart appliances: the four Core Technologies and the Smart ThinQ technologies. According to Young-ha Lee, President and CEO of LG, the combination of these two technologies will give smart appliances that are not only environment friendly but also save the time and energy of the consumers.
The side by side refrigerators by LG double up as smart appliances which help in food management and consumers can also check the food inside through their smartphones and verify data like its location and expiry date. The Smart Access feature in the fridge allows consumers to check the stocks in the fridge even they are out for shopping so they know what to get from the stores. The smart fridge also offers recipe options for the food that is in the fridge.
